Staff Comments
During World War II, the United States was attacked on December 7, 1941, at Pearl Harbor by the Japanese government. This caused the general American public to panic, and fear Japanese Americans so much that they allowed the imprisonment other Americans based on their ethnic background. This picture shows young Japanese American children working out in a physical exercise class at the Relocation Camp in Jerome, Arkansas. I like this picture because it shows the endurance and fortitude of the American people in anguish. These young children are trying to have a normal life inside of a prison that they were placed in by their fellow Americans. -Crystal Shurley
