Historical Note
Oaklawn presented its first racing card on February 24, 1905, before a crowd of 3,000 people. Hot Springs Mayor John Belding declared a half-day holiday for the city. Since then, Oaklawn has evolved into one of the premier race meets in the country, and is known as the home of the Racing Festival of the South and Arkansas Derby,

This black and white postcard depicts horses upon the track and crowds of people in the stands at Oaklawn Racetrack in Hot Springs, Garland County, Arkansas. It was sent to Mrs. Sallie Walker of Osceola.
